OTHER SEX OFFENSES

CONTACT US AT 703.542.4500
Few crimes "brand" a defendant more than a sex-related crime.  While most other crimes involve hefty fines and/or significant jail time, a person convicted of a serious sex-related offense will most likely be required to register on the sex-offender list.  This requirement typically follows the convicted sex-offender for the duration of their life.  So, in addition to being a convicted felon who probably served significant jail time, a person convicted of a sex-related offense will also be required to register on a list with their picture and their home address made public for everyone to see, for the duration of their life.  These sex offenders are prohibited from living too close to a school, a park, or another place where children tend to get together.  Finding a well-paying job and a place to live also become that much more difficult as apartment complexes tend to turn people away who are on the sex-offender list for fear of losing other potential tenants due to a sex-offender living close by.

There are several other sex-related offenses that we would be happy to discuss with you over the phone or during an in-person consultation at our Northern Virginia office.  These offenses include, but are not limited to:
  • Va. Code  § 18.2-64.2:  Carnal Knowledge
  • Va. Code  §§ 18.2-63 and 18.2-64.1:  Carnal Knowledge of Minor
  • Va. Code  § 18.2-67.1:  Forcible Sodom
  • Va. Code  § 18.2-370:  Indecent Liberties
  • Va. Code  § 18.2-374.1:  Child Pornography
  • Va. Code  § 18.2-374.3:  Solicitation of Explicit Activity Using Electronic Media
